NEW FEATURE TO DALEENDECAY

Every Monday (at least I'll try) I will be posting reviews on products that I love, hate, or are indifferent about. No science to this folks. Also, the same review will be posted on my MakeupAlley account, daleendance. I have already done a few reviews on some products on MakeupAlley so check it out!

SEPHORA F&F SALE WISHLIST

October 20th is the start of the epic Sephora Friends and Family sale. Although the starting date is the worst (one day before payday, UGH!), everyone is going to be rushing online and to Sephora to grab their favorite products  By the time you may get there, the one thing you wanted could be gone! So it's always important to keep a list of the things you want to grab so you know exactly where to go before it's gone! Of course, I had to make my own list for the sale and share it with you now!

One thing I know I want to grab is the new Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadows 4.0. This is the first time that Bare Escentuals is releasing a pressed shadow and although I probably have enough quads and such in my collection, I have heard tremendous things about them and they seem to be a 'can't miss'.
bareMinerals READY™ Eyeshadow 4.0
(featured quad: The Dream Sequence) org. $30
If you've seen any of my old videos, you know that I'm definitely not a nail polish person. But lately, I find myself reapplying some of my favorite nail polishes for fall. With winter quickly approaching, I've realized that I don't have any winter polishes. That is why I know I'm going to grab the Sephora by OPI Urban Ballerina Mini Collection. Not only are these colors perfect for winter, it's based around dance!
Urban Ballerina Mini Collection
org. $13
My eyeliner drawer seems to be overflowing with eyeliners and even though I don't use them all (though I should) I keep wanting more! Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes have been on my wishlist for a long time and everytime I stop by Sephora, I keep forgetting to pick these up. I have yet to find an eyeliner that stays on my waterline all day but I'm hoping that this one is it!
Aqua Eyes
(featured colors: 11L, 0L, 12L) org. $18

I'm such a sucker for lipstick so I may just go crazy for them all! Especially for any Nars lipsticks!
(featured color: Afghan Red) org. $24
Finally, I've ALWAYS have had my eye on theBalm Shady Lady Palettes. Not only is the packaging gorgeous and the colors look great, but they have been given such incredible reviews! It's something I just can't pass up!
Shady Lady® Vol. 2 ($108 Value)
(featured palette: Vol. II) org. 39.50

I just want to add one more thing: I've finally started swapping on MakeupAlley.com, so if you're interested in what I'm swapping or for any reviews, just look for user daleendance.

Until next time,

SEPTEMBER FAVORITES!

Soooo, WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?!
Working. Making money for school.
Well, are you going to make videos soon?
No. I've decided that I'm going to stop making videos because I can't commit to it. I just don't have time for it. Not that a lot of people care because I only have twenty-two subscribers but still...
BUT, I'm thinking of keeping the blog because it is something that doesn't take up a lot of time or interfere with my schedule.
Anyways, after a month's absence, here is my September favorites!
To begin, September first was my birthday so of course I've been loving being eighteen! Honestly, I feel sort of 'free' in a way. I defiantly feel much older.
Although I haven't made makeup videos, I've wearing a lot of makeup so to take off my eye makeup I've been loving the Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover. I know Sonia Kasuk has a very similar one but I don't mind spending the extra money if I know that everytime I use it, it will work and work well.
As you all may know, I do have a small obsession with hand sanitizer and this past month, I have been using Bath and Body Works HandiBac Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray in Fresh Market Apple. Out of all of Bath and Body Works scents, this one is the closest (in my opinion) to what it's actually supposed to smell like. Unfortunately, I believe this scent may be discontinued but check your Bath and Body Works Outlet and see if they have any left!
I've really figured out how I like doing my brows and during the huge Urban Decay sale, I got the Urban Decay Brow Box in Gingersnap. Although I can only use one of the colors in the box, it really makes my eyebrows look more polish and fills in the spaces in my eyebrows. And the tools that come with it are super adorable!
Another Urban Decay product I recently picked up was the new Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Eldorado. I wasn't really interested in getting this product when everyone first talked about it BUT when I swatched this color at Sephora, I immediately feel in love! When I wore it on my upper lashline, I got LOADS of compliments. And, like it claims, it does not budge! Even with my beloved Lancome Eye Makeup Remover, it was difficult to remove. LOVE THIS EYELINER!
(sorry for the terrible quality. meh, whatevs, DEAL.)
If I could spend money on only one makeup item it would be lipstick and I LOVEEEEEE the new CoverGirl lipsticks! I don't know what the actual lipstick is called but I do know it is their newer one in the color Darling. It is the best pink for the fall; it is not overly bright or crazy-colored but is bold enough for the fall trend. I've been wearing this like it's nobody's business (Here's a hint: I think it looks prettiest without lipgloss overtop).
(ahh, this picture does NOT look like the color at all! Go to your local drugstore to check it out in person)
So, Daleen. we've come to the end of your September favorites, but you never told us what your favorite TV show of the month is.
Well, none have particularly caught my eye except one: The Lying Game. Now at first, I didn't really like the show; it wasn't very exciting and seemed to go no where. But as the season finale approaches, I've realized how sad I'm going to be when it's over. I love the character of Emma and Laurel as well. Good job, casting directors!
And right before the month ended, two new shows appeared in my DVR list. The first is another one of my all time favorites, Gossip Girl, and it really started off with a bang! Can't wait to watch the rest of the season. And finally, Pan Am. While I was on vacation during the end of the month, I noticed that a lot of talk shows were talking about this hot new show. When I got home, I made sure I DVR'd it and although only one episode has been out, I know I will enjoy this one, too!)
Until next time,

AUGUST FAVORITES!

Before I start, I would really like to thank JessieMariem for nominating me for her "Hello Beautiful Blogger Award". It couldn't have come at a better time, right when I needed motivation. Speaking of lack of motivation...
I also want to address my absence. Work is very hard on me and when I finally get a day off, I don't really want to spend my day talking about makeup to a camera. I would much rather lay in bed and eating fatty foods ;] Please just be patient with me. I do have ideas for upcoming videos, just absolutely no time for it.
Alright, enough with the serious. Let's get it going!

Primer is essential for both foundation and eye shadow and it's difficult to find one that works for everyone, let alone yourself. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is one that has mixed emotions but this month, I have found that I actually like it. In the past, I have had major problems with it but when I use a synthetic brush (Bare Escentuals Max Coverage Concealer Brush) it applies it much nicer and lasts 10x longer.
My favorite way to rock eye shadows is smoking them out. I love sultry, sexy eyes and the Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow Collection. The colors are GORGEOUS and are perfect for making smokey eyes. I cannot recommend and hype this product up enough!
In my last favorites, I said that I love doing my brows and that hasn't changed. But a drugstore product that I love to tame my brows is the Maybelline Clear Great Lash Mascara. I know that pretty much everyone uses this for their brows, but I don't blame them!
To go along with my love for smokey eyes comes the Crown Brush Duo Fiber Crease Brush. It's taller than the average crease brush, but really blends shadows out beautifully. And a plus, I got it from HauteLook for 70% off!
As always, I mention my favorite TV shows of the month and this month is no different. First, Dance Moms. I really enjoy this show because, being a dancer myself, it really shows a side of dance that most people do not see. And the added drama is always nice, too. Secondly, is my all-time favorite show One Tree Hill. For my 18th birthday, my mom got me season 5, 6, and 7 and I've been watching it non-stop ever since. It is just some damn good! If I could only have one show my entire life, it is definitely OTH (BTW, I've got dibs on James Lafferty).

UNIQUE NAIL POLISH

My feet never get enough attention so today, with some of my friends, I wen to get a pedicure. The nail salon I went to didn't have much of a color selection but one color stuck out at me instantly. It's China Glaze in Passion in the Pacific.
The "swatch" doesn't really do the polish justice! It's a beautiful, very unique color. This color is a minty-teal color. It's not a mint green but it's not full on teal either which is why I think it is absolutely perfect for the rest of the summer! I wish I could preserve this color on my toes, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end!

Until next time,

"And ZXY because it sounds sexy!"

If you're familiar with the TV show "Friends", the title of this blog may ring a bell (that line was said by Monica in "The One with the Bullies" which is what I'm watching as I type!) Lately, all I have been watching is Friends on DVD! I keep forgetting how funny that show was! Which is why I want to do a mini series involving some characters from the show! Whatdaya think?

I finally finished my bottle of sweet pea hand sanitizer (thank the lord!) and I just wanted to let you know what scent I will be using for now. This sanitizer is actually in spray form instead of in the bottle (which does not fit nicely in my sanitizer drawer, may i add)! It is fresh market apple. I got this scent during this past year's Black Friday event at a Bath and Body Works outlet so I don't think this scent is available anymore. But I wanted to share this with you because I have never smelt a scent so close to the name in my entire life! I cannot believe how close it smells to a fresh apple! I'm glad I've got another (thank you black Friday deals)!

One final thing I want to add is that at the end of September, I'll be taking a short four-day vacation. Although four days is not long without a video, I just wanted to give you guys a little heads up! But before I leave, I am for sure doing a What's in my Travel makeup bag video which I'm so excited about, I want to film it now!

Until next time!

WHAT I'M LOVING: E/S COMBO

I recently picked up Too Faced Smokey Eye Palette and let me tell you, I LOVE ITTTT! This palette is perfect for me because smokey eyes are my favorite thing to do! But lately, I've been using one specific color in this palette along with another shadow and it has been my favorite combination on my eyes!

After priming my eyes, I take Mary Kay's eye shadow in Moonstone (pearly champagne) on my lid. This color was my favorite as a highlight color, but I have discovered how pretty it is on my lids. I'm not sure if this color is still available from Mary Kay, but if you ever happen to stumble upon it, pick it up immediately!
Then, from the Too Faced Smokey Eye Palette, I take the color Cloves (smokey bronze-brown) and apply into my crease. The finish of this eye shadow is GOREGOUS! And paired with Moonstone it looks even better!

Who knew that something so simple could look completely amazing! I'll add pictures of this soon, describing it in typing doesn't do this combo justice!

MAC IS ON ITS WAY!

I was naughty; I bought more makeup. But this time, it is from my new favorite obsession: MACCCCCC! For some reason lately, I've been really into MAC and I'm super excited for the MAC Me Over Collection (and its release gives me an excuse to buy stuff for my birthday)!

The reason I stumbled onto MAC's website in the first place was because of a promotional code for free shipping that ended today. I didn't need anything from MAC (though I am running low on my favorite lipglass, Boy Bait) but I saw that they were selling Fix + for only $10! I had to jump at the chance to get it and the rest just snowballed from there.
After hearing about how much everyone loved Free To Be eye shadow from the Liberty of London collection, I decided to order it from the Fashion Flower collection. I'm not sure how I'm going to wear this shadow, but I'm sure I will find a way!
And after debating for almost an hour (Teen Mom was there to entertain me though =]) I decided to finally try Hue lipstick. I know a lot of people love this lipstick but I was unsure whether I would enjoy it because of its glaze finish (and because I already have a nude-ish lipsticks, Innocence Beware for example, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend more on another). But I told myself that I needed to open my range of MAC lipsticks. I can't only wear just Cremesheens my whole life!

I can't wait for my order to come in! I haven't bought anything from MAC in a longggggg time and I love getting packages in the mail anyways ;]

HAUTELOOK STEAL-LIO: CROWN BRUSHES

So I was just surfing hautelook.com when I saw that Crown Brushes were on sale. I sneaked a peek and was shocked at how cheap the brushes were. I haven't seen too many YouTubers talk about Crown Brushes but I know PurseBuzz and JulieG713 are a part of the Crown Brushes team. I was hesitate to put in an order but I couldn't believe the deals, so I decided to place an order!

In total, I saved over $30 for brushes! That's incredible! What's even more incredible was the price of the brushes! For their Italian Badger Kabuki, Fan brush, and Duo Fibre Crease brush, it cost only $21! I'm so excited to try these brushes out and I'll let you know how I feel about them. I still can't get over the price of all three brushes! Buying all three of these brushes (including shipping) was equivalent to buying one MAC brush in the store! I know everyone says this, but HauteLook is the best place for not only makeup, but fashion and other products at a discounted price!

IPOD SHUFFLE TAG - STARKID EDITION

So, I've been really busy at work lately because were short on workers so I've been working crazy hours and don't have the time (or energy for that matter) to upload or make videos. But I'm really love this tag and wanted to share it with you! Here's what the rules:
1. Put your iPod or other music playing device on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get the answer to the question.
3. Write the song down, no matter how silly or how much it doesn't make sense.
4. Tag anyone who might also enjoy this silly tag!
Because I'm really stupid and didn't transfer all my music over to my new computer, I had to re-download all my music. So instead of having all my music, all I was able to download was my Starkid songs. If you don't know who or what Starkid is, follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/StarKidPotter. Basically, they are my obsession (and the only thing on my iPod). So here we go!

"Ready to Go" - Me and My Dick
2. What would best describe your personality?
"Kick it Up a Notch (reprise)" - Starship

12. What do you want to be when you grow up?
"I Wanna Be" - Starship (how fitting! I promise I didn't plan to do that =])
13. What do you think when you see the person you like?

JUNE FAVORITES

Dear Blog, I'm sorry I have been neglecting you. To make up for it, here is my June 2011 favorites!

Since school has ended, I have been working NON-STOP (I've now gone full time and I'm working 40 hour weeks)! Because of it, I haven't really been wearing a lot of makeup as I used to back in school. But what I have wearing whenever I do have an opportunity to wear makeup is the Covergirl Eye Enhancers Trio in Shimmering Sands. The reason I love this trio so much is because even though the colors are very metallic (the one downfall to this product) the colors are super wearable and the pink gives the look a little extra pop of color!
Another drugstore product that I have been reaching for all month is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 200 Soft Beige. Since it's about a month into summer, I'm definitely a lot darker than I was before and this color is a perfect match for me! This foundation is also quite light, almost like a tinted moisturizer but more coverage. I think that this foundation is a great choice for the summer.
When I'm at work, I don't want to look like I'm wearing a ton of blush and look cakey. So instead of using a powder blush, I've been using the Benefit Posietint. This is great because I love wearing bright pink blush during the summer but it's tone down a lot and blends into my skin.
Of course I had to add my favorite mascara to the list, right? And I'm sure you can guess it's the Maybelline Waterproof Lash Stiletto in Black. Not only is it waterproof (great for the pool and hot, sweaty days) but really does lengthen my lashes! Try curling your lashes and then apply this mascara; it makes your lashes look incredible!
This past month I've been obsessed with Pretty Little Liars and So You Think You Can Dance. I've loved these shows before, but for some reason, the new seasons of both shows have been more impressive than the last! I love the Ezra/Aria and Spencer/Toby relationships! If either of the couples broke up, I would die! And on SYTYCD, I'm rooting for Melanie to win. I was amazed when I first watched her dance during the auditions.

Stay tuned for more updates and videos from me and I'll talk to you soon!
Love, Daleen

SORCERER'S STONE MAKEUP TUTORIAL

My Harry Potter tutorials are just about done (I know, there are WAYYYY to many) I just have a few more for my Heros and Horrors of Hogwarts but I'm not sure if I will continue with making looks inspired by the books. Anyways, I really enjoyed how this tutorial turned out. Unfortunatley, the lighting is a little dull, so here are some pictures of the look!

M.I.A.-NESS

Wow, has it really been that long since I posted? Well, I've been super busy with school and work and I had a "project" in the making and now I'm ready to share it with you all.
I've finally decided to make a YouTube account because I feel like it would be sooo much easier to share information about makeup with everyone! I still plan to use my blog actively and do other posts including reviews and wishlists. I've been making videos like crazy in order to have enough for the first couple of weeks I use it. I'm hoping to have it up and running with my first video either tomorrow or the day after that. Of course, I'll make sure to also post each video in my blog.
Check out my YouTube (which just so happens to also be called DaleenDecay) here & enjoy!: http://www.youtube.com/DaleenDecay

ONLINE FOREVER 21 SHOPPING: PART 2

Dear Forever 21, I love you. Which is why I spend a lot of my time on your website and not in your store because it is so completley messy! Haha, I will organize it for you, if you really want.
So, I did got out to my mall though to buy that black halter I previously shown you but I haven't worn it out yet. But let me tell, it is so cute on you have to go get it! I think I'm going to wear it this week while I'm at our state dance competition.
Anyways, here are some more clothes from Forever 21 that I think are totally adorable.
Distressed Vinatge Finish Jeans
$22.80
Normally, I won't have gone for these jeans. I have big legs, so skinny jeans + destoryed-ness = no way. But they are too unbelievable cute.

Ruffled Cork Stillettos
$24.80
You could totally dress these up or down. The cork material makes them more casual, but the ruffle makes it 'fancier'

Tiered Cuff Ankle Boots
$32.80
These would go absoultey perfect with a shorter dress. These can total make you look like you own the room.

Fall in Love Charm Necklace
$1.50
This necklace is so simple, but so cute. You can honestly wear it with anything and it's so inexpensive!

Leaf Motif Earrings
$2.80
The last time I went to Forever 21, I couldn't find them at all! These earrings would look so cute with a hair style that's down with curly hair!

As for scarves, they are my favorite accesory and beleive it or not, I loved just about every single one the the scarves that is on their website. I just love scarves!

MY MAKEUP WAS STOLEN!

Yesterday after work, I went into Walmart to pick up some things for my brothers and myself. I wondered over to the makeup section and found nothing too interesting except for the new Maybelline Volum'Express One by One Waterproof Mascara and Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Pink Sand. So blah, blah, blah, I do some shopping, get a book, some more storage, stuff for the brothers, whatever. I go to check out at the self checkouts and I scan everything, bag them, yadda yadda. So I get to my car and because everything is so heavy, I immediately fling everything into my passenger seat. So I get home and I'm going through all my stuff, and I notice that my makeup that I bought is gone. I thought it was kind of weird because everything else was in the bag but not my makeup, so I thought, huh, maybe it fell out of the bag in my car. I go out to check my car, nope, nothing. So then I think, will I had a hard time carrying everything down the stairs so maybe it fell out on my way to my room. Again, nothing. So I was thinking about where it could be, and I was getting angry at this point, and I remember in the check out, there was a very rude girl, about my age, standing behind me. And I just remember her being very impatient and rude and then I remembered that while I was trying to carry everything she immediately went to scan her things. Anndddd, I remember taking my eyes off my bag. She stole my makeup! I'm really upset about the whole thing because I just spent however much money on those things and I don't even get to use it! I'm secretly hoping that it will just appear out of thin air, but I'm sure it's not =[

ONLINE FOREVER 21 SHOPPING

I'm currently in my newspaper class, and my article assignment is pretty much done. Now, with the twenty minutes I have left of class, what do you think I should do? Hmmm, maybe do a little online shopping (more like browsing...)? Now, I'm not too into fashion as I am into makeup, but here are some cute things a found online at forever21.com
Although summer's not quite here yet, this halter would still be really cute. To dress it down, add a cardigan, or if you plan on going out, this alone would be perfect.
Rhinestone Bib Halter Top
$24.80
I am a sucker for graphic tees, but some can be childish. So this is perfect for me! It's a the fun of a graphic tee, but the "maturity" of a dress top.
Beaded Rose Graphic Tunic
$17.80

These tees are a necessity in anyone's wardrobe! They are so comfy but can be worn in so many different way!
Basic 3/4 Slv Raglan Top
$5.80

Wow, how time flys when you're having fun! Have a great weekend everyone! I know I will at our dance competition! Wish us luck!

LA COLORS 5 COLOR METALLIC EYESHADOWS

Most makeup from the dollar store will probably be the worst cosmetics you've ever tried. BUT, I have found the best eye shadows (I would say they were about the same quality as Rimmel Mono Eye shadows, even some MAC ones) and they're only $1.50 for FIVE EYE SHADOWS! That's about $0.30 for just one their eye shadows! It's the LA Colors 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow. Now there are 24 eye shadows palettes that they carry, but my dollar store only carries 5. The colors I have are:
Tease
Tea Time
Wildflowers
and Darling which for some reason the LA Colors website does not have up.
These shadows are so soft, it's like a Snuggie. These shadows are quite pigmented (if you've seen PinkieCharm's review on these, she says that they are not. maybe she got defective ones?) The colors are the MOST GORGEOUS colors I have every seen. I have to say, they are pretty then most MAC ones. The only down fall to this product is that the 'metallic-ness' is only on the top layer, but they still look gorgeous on the eye after the metallic is gone. I've almost hit pan on the Tease Palette even though the shimmer is gone (but it still looks to be a shimmery sheen to it, just not legit sparkles.) I think these are SOOOO worth the $1.50. If you are still iffy about getting them, just try it out. You can even pay it in complete change because it's so inexpensive! I hope my dollar store get more soon because I totally want to try out Carnival!
Ick, now I have to write two papers and complete two packets of study guides. Finals are next week and I really want to do well. Wish me luck!

NEW MAC COLLECTIONS

So lately, MAC's collections have really not impressed me. The last thing I bought from a new collection was one thing from Venomous Villains which was Innocence, Please Cremesheen Lipstick. Otherwise, they haven't impressed me. But, I feel like 2011 has been and will be great for MAC. The two biggest collections MAC has come out with so far is Cham Pale and Peacocky. Unfortuatley, I haven't picked anything up from these collections but I definatley plan on it! I'm super interested in the Mega Metal Shadows. Specifically, Peek-At-You, Top of the Posh (which, I'm suprised I'm interested in, because I don't enjoy the color pink!), Noir Plum (I'm a sucker for purples), and Unflappable. As for their Kissable Lipcolour, I'm loving Enchantee and Vanity Fair, SO PRETTY! The only thing to mean that I'm interested in from Cham Pale is the Soiree Nail Laquer.   But who knows, maybe I won't get anything, or everything from these collections!
Now, as far as upcoming collections go, I'm SUPERSUPERSUPERSUPER excited for MAC & Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is the orginal spokesperson for girls everywhere (at least to me!).  And, OMG!, Jeanius!!!! Have you seen how they're designing the eyeshadows?! Check it out below!

So cute, right? But knowing makeup lovers, I'm sure these eyeshadows will be sold out within the first thirty minutes! There are so many upcoming MAC collections that I can just tell they're going to be amazing!
Well, back to more homework. I have an extra credit puzzle due in Psychology and I'm having the hardest time trying to figure it out!
